2. Food Processing Preservation & storage 50 3 year PO1: The course will enable students to understand the impact of food processing technologies solutions in a societal context and demonstrate understanding of food safety and quality for sustainable development (BL2)

PO2: The students will have skills in designing and formulation of new food products, on the basis of consumers’ demands, and develop new technologies of food processing by considering public health, safety, cultural, social and environmental aspects. (BL3)

PO3: This program would enable students to update their knowledge and professional skills for entering the work force executing income generating activities or occupying better positions (BL2&3)

PO4:The students can undertake investigations of problems including designing of food, food analysis, food quality and safety aspects and interpretation of data in order to provide valid conclusions (BL4&5)

PO5:The students will be enabled the students to create, select and apply appropriate processing technology, in order to improve the quality and shelf life of food (BL5&6)

3. INTRODUCTION TO PRINTING TECHNOLOGY  The student will be able to:

4. INTRODUCTION TO GRAPHIC DESIGN Ø This course covers basics elements as well as principle used in creating a design.

Ø This course gives inputs on the process of creating a design.

Ø This course will impart to knowledge on the basic color theory.

This course covers the technology used today in making the design

5. BASIC SCIENCE OF PRINTING Ø  This course covers basics elements of Color.

Ø  To understand the working of graphic reproduction camera/  Process  camera  and its types etc.

Ø  To understand the terminology like film, contact lens, Halftone, dot percentage, Ink trapping

II 1. COMPUTER OPERATING SKILLS Student will learn about

2. COMMUNICATION & DOCUMENTATION SKILLS To equip the students with skills to write to communicate and articulate in English (verbal as well as writing) and to acquaint the students with the knowledge and use of computers and to introduce the basic principles, organization and operational aspects of computers.
3. BASIC MECHANICAL ENGINEERING Ø   This course covers basic Mechanical elements of Machine.

Ø   To understand the working of Mechanical Parts.

Ø   To understand the power transmission devices, and Different Mechanism.

4. IMAGE CARRIER PREPARATION To make learner aware about different image carriers used in different printing processes

To explain the learner about the process and methods used to prepare image carriers  for various printing processes.

This course gives the information about various ancillary materials and equipment’s required for preparation of image carrier.

5 OFFSET PRINTING TECHNOLOGY The student will be able to:

Understand working of sheet fed and web-fed offset printing machine.

Identify the troubles and Understanding of the possible Remedies.

Understanding of the different units of the offset Printing Machines.

III 1 INTRODUCTION TO ENTREPRENEURSHIP To understand the concept and need of entrepreneurship

4 WEB OFFSET PRINTING The student will be able to:

Ø Understand working of web offset printing machine.

5 PAPER, INK AND COATING TECHNOLOGY The student will be able to:

Ø Develop knowledge of Paper and ink properties.

Ø Use effectively different instruments to carry out property tests.

Ø Analyse various tests to offer the best or required quality material.

IV 1.INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND INDUSTRIAL LAWS After studying this paper the students will be able to

5. BINDING & PRINT FINISHING The student will be able to:

V 1. ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE Ø Student will possess the intellectual flexibility necessary to view environmental question from multiple perspectives, prepared to alter their understanding as they learn new ways of understanding.

5. COSTING & ESTIMATION In the industry job estimate is a important role for customer point of view. It is with this back-ground that elements of costing and estimating are essential for this work. For publishing industry costing plays an important role for price determination. This subject covers elements of cost, costing system, finding out the consumption of material, fixed cost, variable cost, finding out the machine hour rates etc. Student should have the prior knowledge of pre-press processing, printing processing, printing finishing processing and the material involved.
