The Department of National Cadet Corps (NCC) in our college was established during the year 1992.

  • National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens.
  • The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development movement. It has enormous potential for nation building.
  • The NCC Provides opportunities to the youth of the country for their all-round development with a sense of Duty, Commitment, Dedication, Discipline and Moral Values so that they become able leaders and useful citizens.
  • The NCC provides exposure to the cadets in a wide range of activities, with a distinct emphasis on Social Services, Discipline and Adventure Training.
  • The NCC is open to all regular students of schools and colleges on a voluntary basis all over India.
  • The cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.

Mission:

  • To develop leadership and character qualities, mound discipline and nurture social integration and cohesion through multi-faceted programs conducted in a military environment.

 Vision:

  • Empower volunteer youth to become potential leaders and responsible citizens of the country.

 Aim of NCC:

  • The ‘Aims’ of the NCC laid out in 1988 have stood the test of time and continue to meet the requirements expected of it in the current socio–economic scenario of the country. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.

MOTTO of NCC:     “Unity and Discipline (Ekta aur Anushasan)”

The motto of NCC is “Unity and Discipline” which was adopted on 23 December 1957. In living up to its motto, the NCC strive to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of the country and mounding them into united, secular and disciplined citizens of the nation.

Further under the command and control of my commanding officer I will participate in every camp most sincerely and wholeheartedly”.

“मी याद्वारे वचन देतो की, मी माझ्या मातृभूमीची खऱ्या अर्थाने आणि निष्ठेने सेवा करीन आणि राष्ट्रीय कॅडेट क्रॉप्सच्या नियमांचे पालन करीन. पुढे माझ्या कमांडिंग ऑफिसरच्या नियंत्रणाखाली मी प्रामाणिकपणे आणि मनापासून प्रत्येक शिबिरात जास्तीत जास्त भाग घेईन.”

History of NCC:

The NCC in India was formed with the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. It was raised on 15 July 1948 The National Cadet Corps can be considered as a successor of the University Officers Training Corps (UOTC) which was established by the British in 1942. During World War II, the UOTC never came up to the expectations set by the British. This led to the idea that some better schemes should be formed, which could train more young men in a better way, even during peace times. A committee headed by Pandit H.N. Kunzru recommended a cadet organization to be established in schools and colleges at a national level. The National Cadet Corps Act was accepted by the Governor General and on 15 July 1948 the National Cadet Corps came into existence.

During the 1965 and 1971 wars with Pakistan, NCC cadets were the second line of defence. They organized camps to assist the ordinance factories, supplying arms and ammunition to the front, and also were used as patrol parties to capture the enemy paratroopers. The NCC cadets also worked hand in hand with the Civil Defence authorities and actively took part in rescue work and traffic control. After the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars the NCC syllabus was revised. Rather than just being the second line of defence, NCC syllabus laid a greater stress on developing qualities of leadership and Officer-like qualities. The military training which the NCC cadets received was reduced and greater importance was given to other areas like social service and youth-management.

NCC Song

Hum Sab Bhartiya Hai, Hum Sab Bharatiya Hai
Apni Manzil Ek Hai,
Ha Ha Ha Ek Hai, Ho Ho Ho Ek Hai,
Hum Sab Bhartiya Hai

Kashmir Ki Dharti Rani Hai, Sartaj Himalay Hai
Sadiyon Se Hamne Isko Apne Khoon Se Pala Hai
Desh Ki Raksha Ki Khatir, Hum Shamsheer Utha Lenge
Hum Shamsheer Utha Lenge

Bhikre Bhikre Tare Hai Hum Lekin Jilmil Ek Hai
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ek Hai, Hum Sab Bhartiya Hai
Mandir Gurdware Bhi Hai Yahan, Aur Maszid Bhi Hai Yahan
Girja Ka Ghadiyal Kahin Mulla Ki Kankhi Hai Ajha
Ek Hi Apna Ram Hai, Ek Hi Allah Thala Hai
Ek Hi Allah Thala Hai

Rang Birange Deepak Hai Hum, Lekin Mahafil Ek Hai
Ha Ha Ha Ek Hai, Ho Ho Ho Ek Ha

Hum Sab Bhartiya Hai, Hum Sab Bhartiya Hai
