Dear Students and Parents,
I am so glad to welcome you all in the institution committed to the cause of imparting quality higher education to the rural students since last more than fifty years! All these years, quality has been the identifying mark of our institution in all of its academic and beyond the academic endeavors. You are going to be a part of the glorious legacy of this institution founded by the great visionary leader, educationist and freedom-fighter Late Hon. Dr. Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar Saheb, Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra State. It was his dream to bring the rural, border area of Nilanga into the mainstream of higher education which will be qualitatively at par with the best colleges and universities in the world. Born during the foreign rule, and facing the adversities through his childhood, he wanted to provide access to primary to higher education easily and in minimum cost. With this altruistic aim in mind, he established Maharashtra Shikshan Samiti in 1968. Thousands have received quality primary to higher education here and have enriched their lives. We feel proud to remember the great alumnus of our college. There are politicians, scientists, doctors, engineers, professors, lawyers, entrepreneurs and many more who have received knowledge and shaped their lives here.
We have always readily adopted to and incorporated the changing patterns, modes, and tools of pedagogy. We believe that educational institutions are like living organisms who need to evolve, grow and adapt themselves to the changing world around. We also acknowledge that providing quality education while keeping in mind the national aspirations, policies and ambitions is our prime responsibility as the patriotic citizens. As you must be well aware that, Higher education since the arrival of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has drastically changed the pedagogical tools and methods of providing educational experiences. It has brought ease of work, access and cost efficiency in many of the academic functions of the higher educational institutes. In a world where “change is the only permanent thing” and “what cannot be digitized will cease to be” we understand the necessity of access to digital infrastructure. Therefore, we have created here all the digital infrastructural facilities available to our students. We are also vigilant to the changing job markets, market’s demands skilled human resource. Accordingly, we have started B. Voc. Web Printing Technology (WPT) and B. Voc. Food Processing, Preservation and Storage (FPPS) along with Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) and M. Sc. in Computer Science in addition to B. A. B. Com. and B. Sc.. We are also starting M. Sc. Chemistry and Botany as well as Research Centers in Commerce in addition to our already existing Research Centers in Botany and Chemistry.
Discipline, Transparency, Intellectual Excellence, Patriotism, Inclusive Development and Promotion of Scientific Temper are some of the core values of our institution. We work with supreme reverence to knowledge, hence our motto is “न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते” (There is nothing so sacred as Knowledge). We are committed to realizing the aim of National Education Policy-2020 to make India “a vibrant Knowledge Society”. Our alumnus are working in various capacities and at key decision making posts and I wish you all the best for your academic career and great future ahead.
